Thursday May 11th Arrive Paris/Charles de Gaulle Airport
Meet inbound travelers arriving in the morning from the US. Board our motor coach and depart for the relatively short drive (under two hours) to the largest city in the Champagne Region, Reims. We’ll make an intermediate stop in the town of Chateau-Thierry for lunch on our own with a visit to the American Memorial to the American Fighting men in WWI. If time allows, we will stop by Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Memorial. Expect to arrive at the hotel forcheck in about 3:30 PM. You’ll have time to check in, freshen up, and meet for a welcome beverage in the lounge. Overnight Reims
Friday, May 12th Champagne in Reims
We’re staying in the city of Reims today, beginning with a walking tour of the historic center of the city, including its famous cathedral. We’ll break for lunch, but not before a tour and tasting at Taittinger. After lunch we have two visits lined up with Veuve Cliquot followed by Clos Pompadour of Vranken Pommery. Many of these tastings will be from a reserve selection. Overnight Reims
Saturday, May 13th Champagne in Epernay
Today we are off to Epernay to visit three producers there. It’s about an hour to Epernay, which gives us time for a visit to Moet & Chandon before breaking for lunch. We’ll meet up again in the afternoon for a visit to the cellars of Castellane and Mercier before traveling back to Reims and our hotel. Overnight Reims
Sunday, May 14th Traveling through Burgundy to Lyon
We are on our way to Lyon just after breakfast this morning to join the group arriving for our seven nights on the river. Since we won’t have access to accommodations on board before 3:00 PM, we’re timing our drive and ern-route stops with that in mind.

We’ll stop in the town of Troyes for lunch and a chance to stretch your legs and see the town, known for its half-timbered houses. After lunch we continue our drive to the southeast. We’ll make another intermediate stop just south of Dijon for a cellar tour and tasting. Later that afternoon, we’ll arrive at the pier in Lyon to board the SS Catherine.
