Transatlantic Journaling Cruise: Rate Information

PricingPricing is determined by your accommodations aboard ship. If you like more space, and enjoy the benefits of having a balcony on which to lounge, I suggest you consider one of the penthouse suite accommodations. If you plan to spend less time in your room and more time enjoying the ship, a category A or B verandah stateroom might be best suited to you. These have balconies, but are somewhat smaller than the penthouse category.

The category C accommodation provides a picture window, but no verandah, making this a good value in a cabin with a view. For a better value, the D category cabins have a porthole, allowing light into the cabin, and the E Category cabins have portholes with obstructed views.

Finally, you may be interested in an inside cabin. These are positioned on all passenger decks, and have no windows as the name implies. These cabins are strictly for travelers who need a room to sleep and dress, but plan to spend the majority of the time in the public areas of the ship.

These prices include ALL taxes and fees. The airfare is included from most major gateways in the United States and Canada. If you plan to purchase airfare independently of this program, you can take a credit of $1,050 per person.

Cancellation penalties apply. Cancellation insurance is recommended. The schedule below will determine your penalty should you have to cancel.

If you are single, I will place you on a list of interested travelers. I have had much success in the past matching travelers together. If you want to travel with this group, but prefer to have the privacy of a single cabin, I will advise as to the cost of single occupancy. Typically, on this cruise line, single occupancy is nearly 200% of the shared cost. Let me know what sort of accommodation you are interested in. I will quote an exact cost.

Hotel extension in Rio or Barcelona

Oceania offers extended stays in Rio prior to sailing or in Barcelona after disembarking after the cruise. The rates for 2009 are not yet available, however I am posting the 2008 rates with the understanding that an increase of as much as 10% will apply to these rates. The Oceania hotel packages include the room charges, tax, and transfers from the airport to the hotel and hotel to the pier. I have compared the costs to other tour companies and find they are largely competitive.

Rio de Janeiro JW Marriott Hotel
One night: $349 per person; Two nights: $479 per person.
Barcelona Hotel Condes de Barcelona
One night: $379; Two nights: $579 per person
