Flights
A few suggested itineraries for travel to South America for this tour. Keep in mind that you lose a day traveling on the way south. Delta, American, United all have good connections from Seattle that get you there in the early AM to start the tour. Our tour starts January 13th, so you’ll depart from the USA the day before. Avoid any schedule that allows less than an hour connection time. Even if you make that flight, your bags may not. Plan to arrive between 9:00-10:00 AM to be in line for our start time in Buenos Aires.
Delta, United, and American all have decent scheduled returning from Santiago. Because we are touring most of the day on the 24th, do not book your return flight prior to 10:00 PM.
Weather for January
Expect ideal conditions with highs around 80, lows in the mid-60s, with low precipitation and cloud cover. It’s hard to imagine a better time to visit.
Documentation
You’ll need a passport with at least 6 months validity from your departure from the country. Considering that many of the countries you’ll connect through will require 3-6 months of validity, make sure your documents are up to date. No visa is required at this time for visitors from the USA to any of these countries for stays of less than 90 days.
